Group coaching
How does group coaching work?
Coaching is an ongoing process of planning, feedback and refinement.
This is how I work.
1
Group assessment
We start with a deep dive into:
- Your backgrounds and training histories
- Your goals and target races
- Current fitness and strengths
- Injury histories
- Your real-life schedules
This forms the foundation of your group's coaching plan
2
Strategic season planning
I build a structured roadmap for the season. This includes:
- Training phases
- Key race targets
- Progressive fitness development
- Recovery and adaptation periods
I ensure that every block and phase has a purpose
3
Updated biweekly training
Your training plan evolves along with your fitness:
- Training data
- Recovery
- Work and life stress
- Performance trends
Plans are adjusted every two weeks, so you’re always training at the right intensity and load
4
Feedback and communication
You receive ongoing feedback including:
- Opportunity to join biweekly Office Hours call
- Monthly hour-long deep dive into all of your training and your opportunity to ask any questions
The goal is understanding your training, not just completing sessions
5
Race execution
When race day arrives, you’ll all be fully prepared. I build a clear race plan for each athlete covering:
- Pre-race planning
- Pacing
- Nutrition and hydration
- Mental preparation
So you can perform with total confidence

FAQ
How does a group plan work if we are all racing different events on different dates?
Honestly, group coaching works better for groups of athletes targeting the same A race (although you can do different smaller races along the way). If you're targeting A races of the same distance but a few weeks apart, that also works well.
Will we ever actually get feedback from you, or are we completely on our own?
You will get feedback in your monthly group call and you can also ask questions in the biweekly Office Hours calls. The group call is your time - you can ask questions that pertain to the whole group, or your own personal training during this call.
What happens if I can’t keep up with the group’s training volume or pace?
Group coaching provides a framework, not a forced march. I'll explain how workouts are scalable and how to adapt the group plan to fit your individual schedule. You can also ask questions about scaling or tailoring the plan during our monthly group call.
What is the cost of group coaching?
It really depends on the size of your group. The cost per athlete gets lower the bigger the group.
